In an August 5, 2026 interview with People, Stewart said: “If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there.” The remark was about the transition into the role, not a detailed review of the show’s episodes.
What did Martha Stewart say?
Asked about Meghan “stepping into your space with her own cooking show,” Stewart described the career shift as difficult to follow. The full answer, reported by Us Weekly and Just Jared, was: “If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there.”
That is a pointed observation about the public persona behind a lifestyle program. The reports do not frame it as Stewart assessing particular recipes, episodes, or the series as a whole.
What kind of show is With Love, Meghan?
Netflix describes With Love, Meghan as a lifestyle series produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, blending practical how-to segments with conversations among friends. Its activities range across the kitchen and garden rather than following the format of a conventional cooking competition. Netflix’s official series synopsis calls it a reimagining of lifestyle programming.

Netflix’s Season 2 page, dated November 10, 2025, says the season returned on August 26, 2025 and was available to stream. It describes cooking and DIY and names guests including José Andrés, David Chang, Samin Nosrat, Chrissy Teigen, and Tan France. The page also links to recipe and how-to guides inspired by the series; catalog availability can change.
How Stewart’s earlier comment differs
In September 2024, before the show’s 2025 release, Stewart told Us Weekly that “Authenticity matters a lot.” She wondered whether Meghan designed and used her products and could speak about them, and said she was anxious to see what Meghan came up with. That was an earlier comment about lifestyle branding, not the same interview or a review of the released series. Us Weekly’s report covers both remarks.

A March 4, 2025 Washington Post review discussed the series’ recipes, edible flowers, crafts, hosting, and how-to elements as part of its entry into cooking and lifestyle television. Those are the reviewers’ observations, separate from Stewart’s comments; they do not establish her view of the show’s content or a broader audience consensus. The review provides that contemporary critical perspective.
