Why did they discuss marriage on Dancing with the Stars?
The advice came up around the show’s season 33 Soul Train Night. Roberts and Stewart performed a foxtrot to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” and Roberts dedicated the dance to Garrett, who was in the audience. The report says Derek Hough and guest judge Rosie Perez praised the emotion of the dedication.

Why was Stewart thinking about marriage?
Stewart had competed on season 31 with actor Daniel Durant in fall 2022. The two later became a couple and announced their engagement the December before the October 2024 report, saying they planned to marry the following year. That timeline is reporting-era context, not a current statement about their plans. They said their romance began after the competition; Durant described realizing after his elimination that their connection was more than friendship. They went public on Valentine’s Day 2023.
