Rick Ross has a Gulfstream G550, which he acquired in 2023 and customized with a gloss-black and pearl-gold paint scheme. He has said the aircraft is for personal use by him, loved ones, family, and his team—not for charter. The often-repeated claim that he spent $5 billion on it confuses his “$5 billion play” remark with the jet’s price; his actual purchase price has not been confirmed.
What kind of jet does Rick Ross have?
Ross’s aircraft is identified as a Gulfstream G550. He discussed it in an interview with Terrence J at his hangar, published by Haute Living on April 29, 2025. A 2023 report described it as a 2012 model year aircraft, but the transaction price was not known at the time.
What does Rick Ross’s Gulfstream look like?
Duncan Aviation, the company that performed the exterior paint work, describes the finish as gloss black and pearl gold. The fuselage carries “Rick Ross” lettering. “Biggest Boss” appears on the cabin monitors when the tail camera feed is displayed.
Ross described the purchase as his first jet and said, “if I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it right!” Duncan Aviation published the quote from his Instagram post alongside its account of the custom paint job: Duncan Aviation’s project account.

Did Rick Ross spend $5 billion on the jet?
No reliable figure in the available reporting establishes that as the aircraft’s price. The $5 billion claim stems from a 2023 report’s account that Ross called the acquisition a “$5 billion play”; that is not evidence that the plane cost $5 billion. The same report said his actual purchase price was unknown. Market estimates discussed in the article should not be treated as his transaction price or his actual operating expenses. See Celebrity Net Worth’s 2023 report.
How does Ross say he uses the plane?
In the 2025 Haute Living interview, Ross said he had not chartered the aircraft and did not plan to. He described it as for “personal use only,” adding that it was for him, a loved one, family, or the team. That reflects what he said at the time of the interview, not a guarantee of how the aircraft may be used later.

Ross also said the G550’s interior had been redone “like the G600.” That is his description of the cabin’s redesign; it does not mean the aircraft is a G600.

Published references do not establish one current registration with confidence. The 2023 report identifies the aircraft as N676AS. A 2026 PrivJet tracking page associates N33055 with Maybach Air LLC, but the page cautions that its registry data may be outdated. Because the references conflict and the later page is an aggregator rather than definitive proof of current ownership, neither number should be presented as a settled current registration. The later reference is on PrivJet’s aircraft page.
