Bill Belichick said he and Jordon Hudson met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021. When asked about the meeting during a 2025 CBS Sunday Morning interview, Hudson interjected, “He’s not talking about this,” according to The Boston Globe’s transcription. Reporting on an anniversary post attributed to Hudson gives the date as February 11, 2021, and says Belichick signed her copy of a logic textbook.
What did Bill Belichick say about how they met?
In a statement released through the University of North Carolina and quoted by CBS News, Belichick said he and Hudson “met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.” That is the clearest on-record account of where they first met.
What did Jordon Hudson say when asked?
During the April 2025 CBS Sunday Morning interview, host Tony Dokoupil asked how the two met. Hudson interjected, “He’s not talking about this,” as transcribed by The Boston Globe. CBS News reported the shorter wording, “Not talking about this.” These are separate outlets’ transcriptions; they should not be combined into a single quotation.
What details were attributed to Hudson’s anniversary post?
E! News reported that an anniversary post attributed to Hudson identified February 11, 2021, as the date they met and described Belichick signing her copy of Deductive Logic, a textbook by Harvard philosopher Warren Goldfarb. The Boston Globe also reported that Hudson had said on social media they first met in February 2021 on a flight to Florida.

The original post is not available here for direct verification, so the specific date and book-signing detail are best understood as details reported by those outlets, not as independently confirmed quotations from Hudson. Belichick’s own statement specifies Palm Beach; the social-media descriptions reported by the outlets refer more broadly to Florida or repeat the flight account.

The question arose during an interview in which Belichick was promoting his book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football. In the statement quoted by CBS News, Belichick said he expected the promotional interviews to focus on the book and that Hudson stepped in to redirect the discussion.

CBS gave a different account of the interview’s agreed scope. A CBS spokesperson, quoted by the Associated Press, said the network had agreed to a “wide-ranging interview” with “no preconditions or limitations.” These descriptions concern the interview’s scope; they do not alter Belichick’s stated account of where he and Hudson met.
