The complaint does not accuse Swing of taking part in the alleged rape; it says he feared speaking up could cost Jodeci its record deal.
What the amended complaint alleges
Dickerson-Neal’s amended complaint, filed in New York County Supreme Court on May 17, 2024, names Combs as the defendant. It says she was a 19-year-old Syracuse University student when Combs allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted her on January 3, 1991. The filing alleges that Combs recorded the assault and later showed the video to other people. These claims appear in a civil pleading and are not court findings. What it says about Davante Swing
The complaint alleges that Swing, a Jodeci member, told Dickerson-Neal he had seen the video with others while working at a studio. It says that when she asked who had seen it, Swing replied, “Everyone.” That is a secondhand account attributed to Swing in the complaint, not an independently verified statement.
The filing further alleges that Swing was afraid to speak up because Jodeci might lose its record deal. At the time, the complaint says, the group was recording an album for which Combs was doing A&R.

Did the complaint accuse Swing of participating in the assault?
No. The amended complaint describes Swing as someone who allegedly saw the recording and later told Dickerson-Neal about it. It says he feared speaking up; it does not allege that he participated in the rape.

The Associated Press reported on April 27, 2024, that Combs’s lawyers had moved to dismiss some claims, arguing that certain laws did not exist at the time of the alleged 1991 conduct. AP also reported that Combs denied the accusations. A motion to dismiss and a denial are procedural and response context, not proof that the allegations are true or that the entire lawsuit was dismissed. Associated Press report on the motion.
