Joey Barton’s remarks about Angry Ginge were reported by SPORTbible on 4 December 2025 as comments from Barton’s Common Sense podcast. The report said Barton mocked Morgan Burtwistle, known online as Angry Ginge, for crying while missing his family during his I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! appearance. The podcast recording itself was not located, so the comments and quotations below are attributed to SPORTbible’s account rather than presented as independently verified audio.
What did Joey Barton reportedly say about Angry Ginge?
SPORTbible reported that Barton challenged Ginge’s emotional response to being away from his family in the jungle. It reproduced this sentence as Barton’s remark:

“When you get out and watch this Angry Ginge – you’re crying because you haven’t seen your ma for a few weeks – don’t be talking about proper dudes like me in public.”
In context, SPORTbible described Barton as mocking Ginge for crying and objecting to Ginge criticizing him publicly. Because the original podcast recording was not located, the quotation and its context should be understood as SPORTbible’s reporting of the episode, not as a transcript independently checked against the audio.

Why did SPORTbible connect the comments to an earlier dispute?
The report framed Barton’s remarks as a renewal of an earlier disagreement. According to SPORTbible, Barton had criticized the Sidemen charity match, and Ginge had accused him of applying a double standard after an encounter with Barton’s son at a Misfits boxing event. Those details are part of SPORTbible’s account; the dispute was not independently corroborated in the sources reviewed here.
What was the reaction to Barton’s comments?
SPORTbible described online backlash and included examples of critical social-media responses. Those selected reactions show that some people criticized Barton, but they do not establish the scale of the response or represent public opinion as a whole. No named independent survey or quantified measure of the backlash was reported in the available sources.

What happened to Angry Ginge after the report?
ITV News reported on 7 December 2025 that Burtwistle won that year’s I’m a Celebrity series. The win came after SPORTbible’s report, published on 4 December; it was a later result, not evidence of a response to Barton’s comments.
