Alba posted her statement on January 16, 2025, after reports of a possible split had circulated. She and Warren married in 2008, making “16 years of marriage” a reference to the length of the marriage at the time of the public announcement. Alba described their relationship as spanning 20 years.

No divorce filing had been confirmed when Alba made her January 16 statement. The Los Angeles Times reported that it was unclear at the time whether the couple had begun divorce proceedings.
ABC later reported, citing court documents, that both filed for divorce on February 7, 2025. The documents listed December 27, 2024, as their separation date. That filing came after Alba’s public announcement; it should not be confused with the January statement itself.
What is the latest reported legal update?
E! News reported on March 16, 2026, that a judge had signed off on the divorce documents. That is a later legal development than the January 2025 announcement and February 2025 filings.
