In the same feature, Foxx recalls having a headache on April 11 and asking a friend for aspirin: “April 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for Aspirin.” The date and wording are presented as his recollection in the performance.
How the special frames his recovery
Netflix describes the performance as Foxx’s return to stand-up after his 2023 hospitalization. Its official coverage emphasizes his gratitude to those who supported him and his use of humor to talk about resilience and community. Netflix attributes this line to Foxx: “If I can stay funny, then I can stay alive.”

Was an audience member the source of these remarks?
The headline’s audience-member attribution and “exclusive” label are not established by the available reporting. No identifiable audience member or witness quotation was located, and Netflix’s published accounts attribute the remarks to Foxx in the special, not to a separate audience source.
