The international trailer for Predator: Badlands puts a young Predator—not a human hunter—at the center of a survival story. Outcast Dek must navigate a deadly remote planet, find an unlikely ally in Thia, and seek an ultimate adversary.
What is the Predator: Badlands trailer about?
As described in the official premise reproduced by Ars Technica’s October 23, 2025 report, the film is set in the future on a deadly, remote planet. Dek, a young Predator outcast played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, encounters Thia, played by Elle Fanning, and sets out on a dangerous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.
The trailer’s central tension is survival, but the point of view is unusual for the franchise: Dek is the Predator facing danger. Its dialogue sets out a stark rule: “The ways of your kind are ones of violence. Either you are hunted or you become the hunter.” The report does not identify who says the line.
Who are Dek and Thia?
Dek, the outcast
Dek is a young Predator cast out from his own kind. Schuster-Koloamatangi plays Dek and, according to the Ars report, also plays Dek’s father, Njohur. The story follows Dek as he faces the planet’s threats and pursues a formidable opponent.
