The Griddy is a celebratory dance most closely associated with football touchdowns. New Orleans dancer Allen Davis is credited with creating it; wide receiver Justin Jefferson helped take it from its local roots to LSU and then the NFL.

The article describes it becoming a Tigers celebration during LSU’s national championship run. Jefferson carries it into the league
On September 29, 2020, the Vikings reported that Jefferson began the dance at the four-yard line after scoring his first career NFL touchdown: a 71-yard score against Tennessee in Week 3. Jefferson described its path this way: “You know ‘The Griddy’ came from my hometown in New Orleans. Really, we just took it from LSU, and we brought it to the league.”
