Wentworth Miller has not been confirmed to be filming a new project. The latest named project in the available reporting is Snatchback, a drama Variety said was in development at Universal Television in 2024; its production and release status remain unconfirmed. Miller also said in 2020 that he was done playing Michael Scofield, and a January 2026 report said he was not part of Hulu’s then-in-development Prison Break reboot.

Is Wentworth Miller returning to Prison Break?
There is no confirmed return as Michael Scofield. In January 2026, Tom’s Guide reported that Miller and his former co-star Dominic Purcell were not involved in Hulu’s then-in-development Prison Break reboot. That project is distinct from the original series, and the report does not describe Miller reprising his role.

In 2020, Miller publicly said he was leaving the character behind. 8days/CNA reproduced his Instagram statement: “I’m out. Of PB. Officially.” He added, “I just don’t want to play straight characters. Their stories have been told (and told),” and concluded, “So. No more Michael.” These are his words from 2020, not a new statement about a 2026 offer or production.
What is Snatchback?
Variety reported in 2024 that Miller and Purcell were set to star in Snatchback, a hostage-recovery drama then in development at Universal Television. The report makes the project a possible next screen role to watch, but does not establish that filming began, that a broadcaster or streaming service picked it up, or that a release date was set. Its current status is unconfirmed.

In a July 2021 Entertainment Tonight report, Miller described an interest in stories where gay characters are shaped by their struggles without being defined by them. “I’d like to tell — to watch — more stories where gay characters are informed by their struggles, but not defined,” he said. He also spoke about wanting queer audiences to see characters with agency, confidence, and dignity. Those remarks describe his stated creative interests at the time; they do not confirm a current project.
