Manifestation is the idea that focusing on a desired outcome can help bring it about. In Him-eesh Madaan’s account, it is not simply wishing and waiting: repeatedly keeping a goal in mind can shape what you notice and how you act. That practical explanation is different from the stronger claim that thoughts—or the universe—directly cause external events. A Scroll.in excerpt from Madaan’s book, The Manifestation Blueprint: Turn Your Thoughts Into Reality, explores the idea but does not prove that manifestation works.
What does manifestation mean in Madaan’s account?
Madaan presents manifestation as a process involving a clear goal, sustained attention to it, and actions that move toward it. He rejects the simple version in which a person visualizes a result and then waits for it to arrive. On this account, keeping a goal salient may help someone recognize relevant opportunities and respond to them.
That is a claim about how a goal can influence attention and behavior. It should not be confused with the supernatural claim that thoughts alone make an external event happen.
Why can a goal make related things seem to appear everywhere?
Madaan uses the reticular activating system (RAS) to explain why information connected to a goal may stand out once it matters to someone. His account is that repeated focus helps bring relevant cues to attention. For instance, a person thinking about a particular opportunity may be more likely to notice a related conversation or opening.

This explanation belongs to Madaan’s argument in the book excerpt. The excerpt does not independently assess the neuroscience or establish the RAS as proof of manifestation. Noticing a cue can help explain how focus might affect a person’s choices; it does not show that the cue or desired outcome was caused by thought.
Does manifestation mean visualizing, taking action, or both?
For Madaan, visualization is part of a broader process, not a substitute for action. A goal may stay in mind through repeated attention or a vision board, but the practical account depends on what a person does in response. The distinction matters: a focus practice can help organize someone’s attention without demonstrating that a wish has supernatural power.
Rank #2
- Visualization alone: imagining the outcome, without a concrete step toward it.
- Visualization with action: keeping the goal in view and taking steps that could plausibly advance it.
- A supernatural claim: treating thought itself as the cause of an external outcome, rather than as a possible influence on attention or behavior.
What evidence does the book excerpt offer?
The Scroll.in article, published on December 18, 2025, is an excerpt from Madaan’s The Manifestation Blueprint: Turn Your Thoughts Into Reality, credited to Penguin India. Madaan draws on his own goal-setting experience and vision-board practice. He says his experience is not intended to prove manifestation, visualization, or subconscious programming, while using it as a personal example.
Personal experience can illustrate why a practice feels persuasive, but it cannot by itself establish what caused an outcome. The excerpt does not report a controlled study, compare results with a control group, or provide independent expert quotations or named statistics. Madaan writes, “Manifestation is not magic; it’s neuroscience.” That is his assertion, not independent confirmation that neuroscience has proven manifestation.

Why do people believe manifestation works?
Madaan’s explanation offers a straightforward reason: when people repeatedly focus on a goal, related information may become more noticeable, and attention may affect the actions they take. If those actions help them make progress, the practice can feel effective. That possibility is distinct from evidence that the universe delivers outcomes in response to thoughts.
The excerpt is useful for understanding Madaan’s view of manifestation, not as an independent evaluation of the practice. Readers who want to examine his argument can find it in the Scroll.in excerpt, “What is manifestation and why do we believe it works?
