It is distinct from Moon Breathing: Moon Breathing is his sword style, while the crescent blades are the supernatural demonic effect used alongside it.
What does Kokushibo’s Blood Demon Art do?
It creates sharp, crescent-shaped blades that appear with Kokushibo’s attacks. These blades make the reach and pattern of a sword strike harder to read than an ordinary cut, adding supernatural attacks to his swordsmanship.
His katana is also part of the effect’s presentation. Secondary reference descriptions say the weapon is made from his flesh and can change shape, including growing additional blades. This is best understood as part of his demon physiology and fighting style, not as evidence of a separately named ability.
Is Moon Breathing his Blood Demon Art?
No. Moon Breathing is a Breathing Style: Kokushibo’s sword-fighting discipline. His Blood Demon Art is the demonic crescent-blade effect that accompanies and complicates those techniques. The two work together, which is why his attacks can look like both precise sword forms and supernatural blade volleys.

Does the ability have an official name?
The reference sources available do not establish a canonical standalone name for Kokushibo’s Blood Demon Art. Calling it the “crescent-moon blades” describes what it does without presenting a fan-coined label as official. Keep that description specific to Kokushibo; it does not mean every crescent-shaped effect or sword attack in the series is a Blood Demon Art.
Where can you see Kokushibo’s ability in the manga?
The relevant primary source is the manga itself. VIZ’s official Shonen Jump catalog lists Chapter 165, dated July 12, 2019, and Chapter 178, dated October 20, 2019. Those catalog pages identify the chapters but do not provide a searchable account of the ability’s mechanics; consult the manga for the scenes themselves.
