Linda Susan Agar is Shirley Temple’s daughter from Temple’s first marriage, to actor John Agar. Beyond family history and recollections attributed to her in a 2018 interview, dependable public sources offer little information about Linda Susan’s life today. Her current residence, health, work, and daily life are not established by the sources cited here.
Who is Linda Susan Agar?
The United States Postal Service’s 2016 biographical release identifies Linda Susan as the daughter of Shirley Temple and John Agar. Temple later married Charles Alden Black and had two more children, Charles and Lori. The USPS account places Linda Susan within that later family as well. The official Shirley Temple website also identifies Linda Susan in a family photograph caption.
Later interview coverage calls Temple’s daughter Susan Black. That coverage does not establish whether this is Linda Susan’s current legal name, so the names should not be treated as interchangeable proof of her present identity.
What did she say about Shirley Temple?
An IMDb-hosted page crediting Closer Weekly reported recollections from Susan Black in an interview published April 23, 2018. Susan described shared shopping and travel with her mother and said they were close friends. The account also attributes this comment to her: “Being a wife and mom is the greatest of her achievements.” These are Susan’s memories and assessment of Temple, not independently verified details of Linda Susan’s current life.

- Shirley Temple, child star, memoir by Shirley Temple Black
Her recollections offer a glimpse of Temple in a family role, distinct from the public image formed by her acting career. They do not amount to a current profile of her daughter.
What is known about Linda Susan Agar’s life now?
The dependable sources cited here do not confirm where Linda Susan lives, her health, occupation, daily routine, or present family circumstances. They also do not establish whether she wishes to speak publicly. Claims about those matters should not be treated as fact without recent, reliable evidence.
That lack of reliable reporting is not evidence of a particular lifestyle, location, or deliberate decision to avoid publicity. It simply marks the limits of what these sources establish. Recent profile pages that repeat specific personal claims without clear, dependable sourcing do not fill that gap.

The USPS identifies Temple’s Child Star: An Autobiography as a 1988 book. It can provide Temple’s own perspective on her life and career, but it is not a biography of Linda Susan’s adulthood and cannot establish her current circumstances.
