In 2017, a company linked to LeBron James paid a reported $23 million for a newly built mansion in Brentwood, Los Angeles. The contemporaneous Los Angeles Times account describes an 15,846-square-foot home with eight bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms and an entertainment-focused lower level. Later coverage reports different purchase and bathroom figures, so the details below are attributed to their sources rather than blended into one specification sheet.
Which LeBron James mansion is this?
This is James’s second Brentwood residence, not the earlier Brentwood house listed for sale in 2021 and not the Beverly Hills property he bought in 2020. The Los Angeles Times reported in 2017 that a James-linked limited liability company bought the newly built spec home for $23 million, a transaction reflected in property records. The lot had sold for $5.1 million two years earlier, according to the same report.
What’s inside the mansion?
The Times described a house perched above the street with views stretching from the city toward the ocean. Its account emphasized rooms and amenities suited to entertaining, alongside private wellness spaces.
Main living and entertaining spaces
- An elevator serves the multi-level home.
- A custom kitchen includes a La Cornue range.
- The lower level includes a home theater, wine cellar, cigar room and an onyx-lined wet bar.
- Oversized glass doors open to a loggia with built-in heaters.
Spa and outdoor areas
The 2017 report lists a spa with a steam room, sauna and massage room. Outside, the property has a swimming pool and spa.

A 2021 Realtor.com account adds detail to its summary of the 2017 home, describing a 1,500-bottle wine cellar, gym, wine and cigar lounge, bar, marble patios, outdoor kitchen and oversized pool. Those are later secondary-source descriptions, rather than details in the Times’s contemporaneous account.
A MyDomaine feature, drawing on Trulia listing material, describes marble surfaces, natural French oak floors sourced from Spain, a neutral palette, rooftop terrace and guest quarters. These details come from a separate account and should not be read as a direct inspection or current listing.

How do the reported price and bathroom count differ?
The 2017 Times report is the strongest contemporaneous account of the purchase: it gives a $23 million price, 15,846 square feet, eight bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms. A later Architectural Digest portfolio overview from 2026 gives a $23.5 million purchase figure and 11 bathrooms. MyDomaine also reports 11 bathrooms. The available accounts do not explain the differences, so neither the later price nor bathroom count should be substituted silently for the Times figures.

Current ownership and occupancy are not conclusively established by the sources cited here. Architectural Digest’s 2026 overview calls the Brentwood property James’s primary residence, but that is a secondary report; the available material does not provide a current primary ownership record or direct confirmation. The earlier Brentwood home and the separate Beverly Hills purchase are distinct properties, not evidence of this mansion’s present status.
