The latest located report, published October 4, 2025, said that The Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner had announced his engagement to Lana Sutton. In interviews published in November 2025, Turner also spoke about monitoring for Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia and his memoir, Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV. Those are dated updates—not confirmation of his status on October 8, 2026.

Turner was also discussing his health and his experience after the show. In a Vanity Fair interview published November 7, 2025, he said he was having regular blood tests and felt fine. His memoir, Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV, was reported to have reached shelves on November 4, 2025.
What he said about his health
Turner disclosed a diagnosis of Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia in December 2024. In the November 2025 Vanity Fair interview, he described his follow-up care this way: “I still go to the doctor every six months for the blood test and one marker in particular that they watch. I’m feeling fine.”

That is Turner’s account of his condition and monitoring at the time of the interview, not an independent medical assessment or a current update. The available reports do not establish whether his health or care plan has changed since then.
His memoir and the dispute over its account

His former wife, Theresa Nist, publicly disputed his portrayal of their relationship. Vanity Fair reported her response: “None of what Gerry Turner has said in his disparaging remarks about me is true, and none of the interactions we had are stated in the way that they actually happened. Turner, the first lead of The Golden Bachelor, became engaged to Nist at the end of the season. They married in a televised ceremony in January 2024. In April, they announced they had decided to end the marriage.

CBS News reported the announcement on April 12, 2024, along with their public explanation. Later interviews included differing recollections. The April statement is the couple’s shared explanation at the time; later claims belong to the person making them.
