At a club, Lilli meets Tom, a mysterious manager. Their attraction quickly becomes an affair, but the romance is entangled with the threat to the finca: real-estate developer Nick has hired Tom to seduce Lilli and persuade her to agree to the sale. As Lilli investigates, she must reckon with both Valeria’s vulnerability and her own feelings for someone who is manipulating her.
Fall for Me ending explained (spoilers)
The scheme reaches beyond Lilli and Tom. In published plot recaps, Nick, his wife Girasol, Manu and Tom are connected to the effort to get the sisters to sign over their family property. When Valeria is abducted and Lilli is pressured to sign, Tom turns against the operation and helps the sisters escape. Police arrive, ending the immediate danger.
#1 Best Overall
The epilogue returns to the finca, which Valeria is now running as a B&B. Tom is still close to Lilli, and the final image leaves open the possibility of a future together. It is a tentative reconciliation, not a clean resolution: Tom participated in the con before helping the sisters, so Lilli’s trust in him remains a real issue. The plot details here follow secondary recaps rather than a Netflix-published scene-by-scene account.
Is Fall for Me based on a true story or a book?
No. Netflix Tudum identifies Fall for Me as an original screenplay by Stefanie Sycholt, not an adaptation of a book or a true story. Tudum says it was loosely inspired by a wave of romance-scam crimes, with the broad phenomenon popularized by cases such as The Tinder Swindler. The film is not presented as a dramatization of one named case.

What kind of thriller is it?
The movie uses the threatened family finca to connect its romance and crime plot: Valeria’s B&B ambitions create pressure to sell, while Lilli’s attraction to Tom becomes part of the plan to influence that decision. The scam expands to involve several characters who appear to be romantic or business partners. The ending offers the sisters an escape and a new use for the property, but leaves the emotional cost of Tom’s betrayal unresolved.
