Drake is an executive producer of HBO’s Euphoria, not a credited cast member in HBO’s original series-order announcement. Creator Sam Levinson later described him as an early supporter who helped give HBO confidence and was more involved in promotion and marketing than in major creative decisions.
What is Drake credited with doing on Euphoria?
HBO named Drake and Future the Prince as executive producers when it ordered Euphoria on July 30, 2018. The announcement identifies Sam Levinson as the writer and an executive producer, and says he was writing all episodes. It does not list Drake as a cast member. HBO’s series-order announcement establishes the formal credits; the Television Academy later also listed Drake as an executive producer for the show’s 2022 Outstanding Drama Series nomination (Television Academy).

How did Drake contribute, according to Sam Levinson?
In a June 2026 interview account, Levinson said Drake received scripts early and asked to join as a producer or executive producer while HBO was uncertain about the show. Levinson credited Drake with giving the network confidence, saying, “He brought a level of confidence to HBO that I will forever be grateful for.”
Levinson characterized Drake’s involvement as “more involved in promotional and marketing aspects” than in major creative decisions, according to Complex’s report of the interview. That is Levinson’s description of Drake’s practical contribution, not a formal account of his contractual duties.

Is Drake in the cast, or did he create the show?
The credits support an executive-producer role, not an acting or authorship role. HBO’s original announcement names Levinson as the writer and says he was writing all episodes; it does not identify Drake as a performer, creator, director, or writer. The announcement also says the series is based on the Israeli series created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. An executive-producer credit alone does not establish that Drake financed the show, controlled casting, selected scripts, or made particular creative decisions.
