Billboard announced its acquisition and planned digital release for October 27, 2026, with viewing destinations identified as Billboard’s channels, BillboardTV, Amazon Fire and Samsung TV+.
What is Cosmic Symphony about?
The film considers what the loss of an instrument means to the musicians who relied on it. Karpman described that bond this way: “When a musician loses an instrument, they lose a part of themselves – their partner, their voice,” according to a syndicated report of Billboard’s announcement published October 5, 2026.
Karpman called the film, her directing debut, “simultaneously as a requiem and a celebration.” Its focus is both the grief of losing instruments in the fires and the continuing relationship between music, memory and community.
Which musicians and instruments does it feature?
The report names four musicians: John Clayton, Susie Chung, Starr Parodi and Diane Warren. It says the four instruments include pianos associated with The Wizard of Oz and A Star Is Born, but does not provide a complete instrument-by-instrument account or establish further ownership, provenance or model details.

Where and when can you watch it?
Billboard’s announced plan was to release Cosmic Symphony digitally on October 27, 2026. The report identifies Billboard’s channels and BillboardTV as destinations, and also names Amazon Fire and Samsung TV+. What was planned for the premiere?
A Los Angeles premiere screening and concert was announced for October 26, 2026, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. The report said performers from the film and additional musicians would participate, with all proceeds going to MusiCares. Because the announcement predates the event, it describes a plan rather than confirming that the screening took place.
