Netflix currently lists two seasons. Its deliberately abrasive style may suit viewers who like short, taboo-pushing sketches, but it is a poor fit for anyone seeking gentler comedy or a continuous sitcom story.
What is Bad Thoughts about?
Netflix Media Center describes the show as a six-episode dark-comedy series in which Tom Segura “navigates unthinkable situations and fantasies within a cinematic world.” Netflix’s title page characterizes it as a collection of disturbing stories that push at the boundaries of decency. The premise is a frame for short comic situations rather than one long, continuous plot.

Segura is the central performer and creative identity of the series. Netflix’s current cast listing also includes Robert Iler, Daniella Pineda, Arturo Castro, Bobby Lee, Nic Novicki, Johnny Pemberton, Rachel Bloom, Kirk Fox, and Christina Pazsitzky. The Season 1 record at the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) additionally names directors Jeremy Konner, Rami Hachache, and Segura, and lists performers including Dan Stevens and Arnold Chun.
Is it sketch comedy or a stand-up special?
It is a sketch- and vignette-oriented comedy series, not simply a recording of Segura performing stand-up. Netflix labels it sketch comedy and short form, alongside offbeat, raunchy, dark comedy, and irreverent. Expect acted scenarios and shifts in premise and perspective, rather than a single stage set or the sustained story arc of a conventional sitcom.

How raunchy or disturbing is it?
Netflix rates the series TV-MA and labels it raunchy. BBFC episode-level descriptors list crude humour, injury detail, and violence for Season 1; its Season 2 episodes are listed with injury detail and violence. These are useful warnings about the show’s mature, shock-oriented tone, not a replacement for ratings guidance in your country.
In practical terms, this is a better match for viewers comfortable with crude jokes, taboo subjects, and comic violence than for viewers looking for low-key or family-friendly comedy. The sketch format can also make the tone and scenario change from one episode to the next.

How have critics and viewers responded?
Rotten Tomatoes’ page, accessed October 8, 2026, reports a 54% Tomatometer from 13 critic reviews and a 74% Popcornmeter from 500+ audience ratings. These are separate aggregates, not a direct head-to-head poll: the critic score reflects a small review sample, while the audience score reflects a larger but changing set of ratings. Both figures can change over time and should be read as a dated snapshot, not a definitive verdict on the show.
