Chapter 271 shows him only in Yuji’s recollection of an earlier conversation. The series ends with Gojo’s students carrying the future forward, not with his resurrection.
Does Gojo die in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Yes. Gojo’s defeat and death are established before the finale. Shueisha’s official description for Jujutsu Kaisen, Volume 27 states that Gojo has been defeated and that the characters mourn his death as the battle with Sukuna continues. His ultimate fate is not left open by the ending.

Does Gojo come back in the final chapter?
No. In Chapter 271, Gojo appears in Yuji’s memory of a conversation they had before the confrontation with Sukuna. He is not shown surviving the fight or returning to life. The scene-level account comes from a secondary summary of Chapter 271; Shueisha’s catalog page identifies the final volume and its contents but is not a chapter transcript.
What does Gojo’s final-chapter appearance mean?
Yuji remembering Gojo brings the story back to their relationship and to Gojo’s hopes for the next generation. The students and allies continue forward after his death. That makes the memory a reminder of the future Gojo wanted his students to build—not evidence that he is still alive. This reading is an interpretation of the scene, rather than an official statement about its meaning.

Chapter 271 is included in Jujutsu Kaisen, Volume 30, which Shueisha identifies as the final volume and lists with an epilogue. Its Japanese release date was December 25, 2024. VIZ also lists Volume 30 as the final volume and provides an official Jujutsu Kaisen chapter access page; digital availability can depend on region.
