The reports reviewed here do not independently authenticate the screenshot or establish who captured it.
What the May 2024 reports said
India Today reported on May 28, 2024, that a screenshot of Parag’s YouTube search history had gone viral. The outlet said users highlighted searches for “Ananya Panday hot” and “Sara Ali Khan hot.” Zoom’s verified YouTube channel also published a report that day, describing the searches as unintentionally exposed during a stream.
Those reports describe the online story, not independently verified evidence of the screenshot’s source or account ownership. The screenshot is the basis of the coverage; the reporting cited here does not establish who captured it or independently authenticate the account history.
What Parag said later
In February 2025, Hindustan Times reported on Parag’s comments in an interview with City1016 Radio. He said the incident happened before IPL 2024, although it became public after the tournament. As quoted by Hindustan Times, he said: “I finished the IPL, we were in Chennai, finished the match, got on a Discord call with my streaming team, and it got publicised now, but it happened before the IPL.”

Parag said he had opened YouTube to put on music during a stream: “So I went on YouTube to put on music, and I searched for music.” He said he realized what had happened after the stream ended, and described the attention by saying, “It just got blown out of proportion.” These are statements attributed to him in Hindustan Times’ account of the radio interview, rather than quotes verified against a published interview transcript.
How the two accounts fit together
| Account | When it appeared | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Media coverage of the screenshot | May 28, 2024 | India Today and Zoom described a screenshot circulating online and the searches it appeared to show. This does not independently establish the screenshot’s origin or authenticity. |
| Parag’s explanation | Reported in February 2025 | Parag said the searches predated IPL 2024, that he opened YouTube to play music during a stream, and that he noticed what had happened after the stream. |
The later explanation supplies Parag’s account of the timing and context; it does not by itself authenticate the screenshot. Keeping the evidence types distinct avoids treating either the screenshot coverage or the retrospective account as more conclusive than it is.
