To make room, the family adapted an old wagon Hall had used as an office into a bedroom. Despite the headline’s wording, the report describes a family housing situation—not a named housing development project.
Why Hall’s relatives moved in
PerthNow’s 25 June 2024 report said Hall’s cousin and the cousin’s family needed accommodation during the housing crisis and moved in with Hall’s household. The article did not cite a housing statistic or study, so its description of a crisis is qualitative rather than a quantified claim about the wider market.
The report is a historical account of the household’s arrangements at that time; it does not establish where the relatives live now. PerthNow presented Hall’s remarks as excerpts from a social-media post, which was not separately verified.
How the household made extra space
According to PerthNow, Hall and her family repurposed an old wagon she had used as an office. Hall’s partner moved it with help from the cousin’s partner, and the deck was reshaped to fit it beside the house. Hall redecorated the space for use as a bedroom.

PerthNow quoted Hall describing the family’s response to the adapted space: “And now everyone’s fighting over it.” The report gives no construction specifications or product recommendations.
What the report says about Hall’s partner
As background, PerthNow said Hall had previously announced that she and her partner were living separately while he recovered from a brain injury, and that he moved back into the home in November 2023. That detail belongs to the report’s timeline and should not be read as an update on their present circumstances.

What “housing development” means in the headline
The headline’s phrase “housing development” may suggest a building project, but PerthNow’s story names no such project. It concerns the effect of a family’s need for accommodation on Hall’s household and the practical steps they took to make room.
The account supports what PerthNow reported about Hall’s family in June 2024. It does not independently verify the original social-media post, the family’s current living arrangements or broader claims about housing conditions. Read PerthNow’s report, published 25 June 2024.
