Steve Austin hit the front-row barricade while riding an ATV at WrestleMania 41 on April 20, 2025. A woman behind the barrier fell or was jolted back toward her seat, but reports did not establish that the ATV directly struck her or confirm that she was injured. Austin later said a different throttle setup contributed to the crash and that he thought everyone was okay.
What happened at WrestleMania 41?
During Night 2 of WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, WWE Hall of Famer Steve “Stone Cold” Austin rode an ATV around ringside as part of his appearance. He hit the barricade in front of the first row. Contemporary accounts described a woman behind the barrier falling or being knocked back toward her seat. They do not establish that the ATV made direct contact with her.
Austin and WWE president Nick Khan checked on people at ringside after the impact. The available reports do not confirm the woman’s condition or document a later official WWE statement about it, so it would be inaccurate to say either that she was injured or that she was unharmed.
Why did Austin lose control?
In an interview with Ariel Helwani reported by CBS Sports on April 30, 2025, Austin said the ATV had a throttle setup different from the one he was used to. He described that as the reason for the handling problem; it is his explanation, not an independently confirmed mechanical finding.
