Yanet García, known in Mexico as “La Chica del Clima” (“the weather girl”), became famous after a weather segment from her time at Televisa Monterrey went viral in 2015. That moment turned a local weather presenter into a national name. Since then she has worked in Televisa’s morning program Hoy, acting, modeling and online subscription content. In July 2026 she was announced as a participant in La Casa de los Famosos México, and in August 2026 N+ reported her own remarks about her finances. Those financial claims are hers, not independently verified.
Why she is famous: a weather segment that went viral
García’s public image started on weather segments for Gente Regia, a Televisa Monterrey program. Sources describe her as a weather presenter, and her 2015 viral moment is the point where her audience grew beyond regional television. The reports that mention 2015 do not describe the content of the segment in detail, so this article does not claim to know exactly why it spread. What is documented is the sequence: a local weather role, a viral segment in 2015, and a nickname, “La Chica del Clima,” that followed her into later work.

In the official La Casa de los Famosos México interview published July 21, 2026, García gives her own account of how it started. She says she is from Santiago, Nuevo León, and that she had the opportunity to audition for Televisa Monterrey to become a weather presenter. She also describes waking up to find herself viral around the world. The show’s transcript records her saying:
“Un día me despierto y me hago viral en todo el mundo.” (“One day I wake up and I go viral all over the world.”)

From weather presenting to national television
The 2018 move to Hoy is the step that connected her to a national audience. The broadcaster profile places her on the morning program that year and lists her later work in acting, modeling and digital content, which is what separates her current public career from a single regional job.
Television and presenting
Her television work after Gente Regia is described through Hoy. The sources do not give a run length or specific segments for this period, so the article does not characterize her role there beyond what the profile states.

The broadcaster profile lists film roles including Sharknado 5 and Qué huevos, Sofía. These are credits she is recorded as having, but the profile does not give her role in either title or the years of release for her part, so none are stated here.
Modeling and online content
The profile says she developed work in modeling and digital content. It does not list specific campaigns, brands or platforms beyond the subscription content discussed below, so this article does not add detail the reports leave out.

La Casa de los Famosos México, 2026
The 2026 season of La Casa de los Famosos México is her most recent high-profile appearance in the sources. The show’s July 21, 2026 interview introduced her as a new participant, and Las Estrellas described her as the final confirmed participant for that season. This is the answer to the question official coverage asked, “¿qué hace ahora Yanet García?” (“What does Yanet García do now?”): as of July and August 2026, she is a competitor on a reality show, and she has described business plans and income from her online work.
The reports are dated July and August 2026. They do not establish how long she remains in the house, how she is performing, or whether the plans below have changed since.
