Netflix’s official finale explanation does not say what happens to Vickie after Season 5. It gives Robin a future update but no comparable update for Vickie, so the published account does not confirm whether she and Robin remain together—or that Vickie dies or leaves Hawkins.
What the finale says about Vickie
Netflix identifies Amybeth McNulty as Vickie in its official cast listing. But Netflix’s finale epilogue explanation does not provide a later-life update for her. That omission is the clearest answer available: her post-finale status is not specified in the official explanation.
In the same account, Robin is said to attend Smith College, and the friends plan to meet monthly at Robin’s uncle’s house in Philadelphia. The account does not say that Vickie joins those gatherings, explain why she is not mentioned, or describe a breakup. Silence in an epilogue summary is not confirmation that an event happened.
What the ending does establish
The finale’s central conflict concludes with the Hawkins group defeating Vecna and the Mind Flayer. The story then returns to the Wheelers’ basement for one last Dungeons & Dragons campaign. The friends leave, and Holly and her friends take up the game.

In Netflix’s finale explainer and interview with the Duffer Brothers, the basement scene is framed as the older characters leaving childhood behind and passing the torch. That gives the group’s ending a clear thematic shape, but it does not resolve Vickie’s individual future.
Are Robin and Vickie still together?
The official epilogue explanation does not answer that question. It supplies Robin’s college and reunion plans without stating whether Vickie is part of her life afterward. Based on that published account, their relationship’s status at the end remains unstated.

Claims that Vickie died, broke up with Robin, or appears in a hidden alternate ending go beyond what the official explanation establishes. They may be fan interpretations, but should not be presented as confirmed plot.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the finale can leave questions open
Netflix’s epilogue coverage gives updates for several characters, including Robin, without offering one for Vickie. That unevenness leaves a real gap in the published account; it does not tell readers what happened off-screen.

The Duffer Brothers also discussed ambiguity around Eleven’s fate in a separate Netflix interview. Ross Duffer said, “For our characters to move on and for the story of Hawkins and the Upside Down to come to a close, Eleven had to go away.” That statement concerns Eleven and the story’s closure, not Vickie’s omission, so it should not be treated as an explanation of Vickie’s fate.
