Tara Reid alleged that she believed her drink had been tampered with at a hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, near Chicago, in November 2025. She filed a police report. Rosemont police later said the surveillance they reviewed showed Reid at the hotel bar but did not show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink. That account describes what police said the video showed; it does not establish what caused Reid’s medical condition.
Where and when the incident was reported
The reported location was the DoubleTree Hotel at 5460 River Road in Rosemont, a suburb near Chicago, not the City of Chicago itself. Rosemont Public Safety said officers responded to an EMS-related call just after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Officers assisted paramedics with a sick-person call, and Reid was taken to an area hospital. The department said no additional reports were made that day. CBS Chicago reported the police response and later update.
What Reid alleged
On November 25, CBS Chicago reported that Reid had filed a police report alleging that her drink had been drugged. At that stage, Rosemont Public Safety said the report was under investigation and police were communicating with the hotel to obtain surveillance footage. The claim should be understood as Reid’s allegation, not as a confirmed finding.
What police said the surveillance showed
In an update reported on December 3 and 4, Rosemont police said the surveillance they reviewed showed Reid at the hotel bar, but did not show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink. ABC7 Chicago reported the police statement.

That is a limited finding about the footage police reviewed. It does not, by itself, establish that drugging was impossible or explain why Reid became sick. The reviewed reporting does not provide a confirmed toxicology result or a medical determination about the cause of her condition.
What Reid’s spokesperson said about the video
On December 9, ABC7 Chicago reported that it had obtained hotel surveillance video through a Freedom of Information Act request. The outlet also reported Reid’s spokesperson saying she had been honest and did not remember anything after her first drink. That statement reflects Reid’s account through her spokesperson; it is not a medical finding.

What is known about the later follow-up
On February 14, 2026, The Independent reported on a later interview in which Reid reflected on the incident. Its coverage repeated the police account of what surveillance did not show, but did not establish a final investigative outcome or a confirmed toxicology result. The Independent’s follow-up is the latest dated report included here.
