Skeet Ulrich’s character, Billy Loomis, is killed at the end of Scream (1996). Sidney Prescott shoots him through the head after Billy reveals that he and Stu Macher are the killers behind the Woodsboro murders.
Who was the original killer in Scream?
Ulrich plays Billy Loomis, Sidney’s boyfriend. Billy is one of two killers; Stu Macher is his accomplice. The Ghostface identity is shared in the film, so Billy was not acting alone. The official plot on Wes Craven’s website describes Billy staging an apparent injury before he and Stu reveal their plan.

Why did Billy Loomis become a killer?
Billy says he and Stu killed Sidney’s mother, Maureen Prescott. He explains that he wanted revenge because Maureen had an affair with his father, Hank, and says the affair drove his mother away. That is Billy’s stated explanation in the film, rather than an independently established account of his motives.
How does Billy Loomis die?
After Billy and Stu reveal their plan to kill Sidney and frame her father, Neil, Billy attacks Sidney. She shoots him through the head, killing him, according to the official film plot.

Does Billy return in later Scream films?
Paramount’s synopsis for Scream (2022) places its story 25 years after the earlier Woodsboro murders and describes a new Ghostface killer with original survivors involved. That synopsis provides timeline context, but it does not establish a later appearance by Billy.
