Her two children, Damon and Tahnee, survived her. But public sources do not establish who inherited her assets, and the often-repeated $40 million figure is an unverified net-worth estimate—not a documented valuation of her estate.
What happened to Raquel Welch?
Welch died at home in Los Angeles at age 82. The Los Angeles Times report on her death certificate said she died at 2:25 a.m. on February 15, 2023. It listed cardiac arrest as the immediate cause of death and Alzheimer’s disease as a contributing condition. The report said her illness had not been publicly disclosed by Welch before her death. She was cremated six days later.
Welch’s career crossed film, television, stage, and business, including a well-known wig line. Her obituary in the Los Angeles Times described a career spanning nearly 60 years. It also quoted a statement from her management company, Media Four, saying she had appeared in more than 30 films and 50 television series and appearances.
Who will inherit Raquel Welch’s fortune?
The available public sources do not identify Welch’s beneficiaries or explain how her assets were distributed. The Associated Press obituary confirms that she was survived by her son Damon and daughter Tahnee. Being a surviving child, however, does not by itself establish that someone inherited a particular asset or share.
#1 Best Overall
No reviewed source provides Welch’s will or trust, names an executor or beneficiaries, or documents an asset distribution. A 2023 estate-planning article by attorney Tara Cheever described public information about Welch’s estate plan as scarce. It speculated that she might have used a trust benefiting her children and raised possible charitable giving, but cited no estate document, court order, or family confirmation. Those suggestions are conjecture, not established facts.
Is the $40 million figure the value of her estate?
No documented estate valuation is established by the cited sources. Cheever’s 2023 article repeats $40 million as Welch’s “reported” net worth but gives no underlying asset inventory, valuation date, or documented source for the figure. It should be treated as an unverified estimate, not a confirmed measure of what she owned when she died.
Rank #2
Net worth during a person’s life and the value of assets passing through an estate are different measures. Without documented information about Welch’s holdings, debts, and estate arrangements, the reported estimate cannot establish how much her estate was worth or what any beneficiary received.

The Los Angeles Superior Court probate page says its online case-name search includes probate cases from 1983 onward and is updated daily. That describes the court’s search service; it does not establish that Welch’s estate was probated or disclose an outcome. No Welch-specific filing or result is documented in the sources cited here, so the court index cannot be treated as confirmation of her beneficiaries or distribution.
