What did Patti Smith say about her health?
Smith described the episode as post-migraine dizziness and a small incident. Speaking to the Associated Press by phone on January 30, she said, “I’m fine. You can hear I’m fine.” In a statement posted to Instagram and quoted by the AP, she said, “I was checked out by an excellent doctor and was absolutely fine.” Those are Smith’s descriptions of her condition at the time, not an independent medical report.
Why was the next performance canceled?
Soundwalk Collective said Smith had experienced an intense migraine for several days before the São Paulo performance. The group later said the next evening’s performance was canceled because she needed more time to recover. Is Patti Smith okay now?
Smith said she was fine after being checked by a doctor in January 2025. That reassurance refers to the incident then; the available reporting does not establish her health status in October 2026.
