MuteMe left its televised Shark Tank negotiation without a completed deal, but the company continued selling its illuminated computer mute button, added products and announced an acquisition of mütesync in 2024. Its current store lists the original MuteMe, MuteMe Mini and a mütesync-branded device.
Did MuteMe get a deal on Shark Tank?
No deal was completed on the broadcast. Co-founders Parm Dhoot and Tye Davis pitched MuteMe in Season 13, Episode 2, seeking $200,000 for 10% equity. The company says the episode aired October 15, 2021, after filming in July; the televised negotiation ended without an agreement. Shark Tank Blog’s recap describes the on-air outcome.
MuteMe later gave its own account of what viewers did not see: it said the filmed pitch lasted nearly an hour, while the episode included about ten minutes, and that an additional offer made during filming was pulled before a deal could be finalized. That is the company’s account of off-air events, not the outcome shown on television. MuteMe’s account distinguishes the offer from a completed investment.
What did MuteMe do after the show?
The founders continued building and selling the device. A Shark Tank Blog recap reports that supply-chain problems delayed fulfillment, followed by the introduction of a Mini model and sales through Amazon. The company also announced in January 2023 that it had been named a Sacramento Business Journal “Startup to Watch.” MuteMe’s announcement documents that recognition.

What was the mütesync acquisition?
On November 1, 2024, MuteMe announced that it had acquired mütesync. The company said the assets included intellectual property, design files, software, firmware, inventory and customer-support infrastructure. The announcement establishes what MuteMe said it acquired; it does not by itself establish the financial terms. Read MuteMe’s acquisition announcement.
Is MuteMe still in business?
At the time the official storefront was checked on October 8, 2026, it featured the original MuteMe, MuteMe Mini and a mütesync-branded device. That current product listing supports saying the company is marketing products; it does not show whether the business is profitable or how much it is selling. The official store is the place to check current listings and availability.

What does the MuteMe button do?
MuteMe is a USB-connected peripheral used with a companion computer app to mute or unmute the default microphone and, depending on the setup, synchronize with supported conferencing applications. The manufacturer describes three sync levels, from microphone control to fuller synchronization with the meeting app. Its compatibility list names Zoom, Teams, Webex, Skype, Google Meet, GoToMeeting and other applications, while noting that compatibility can vary by operating system. Consult MuteMe’s current compatibility information for the exact combination of computer OS, meeting app and sync behavior you need; listed support is not a guarantee that every feature works identically across setups.
Current product details
The manufacturer describes the original device as having capacitive touch, programmable colors and Windows/macOS compatibility. Its site also lists Linux support. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
