Mary Gibbs, the child actor who voiced Boo in Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., did not build a continuing voice-acting career around the role. In accounts she gave later, she described moving on to college, creative and athletic interests, and health and fitness work. She also said she would gladly return as Boo if Pixar asked—but that was her openness to the idea, not an announced project. Her current occupation is not established by the available accounts.
Mary Gibbs voiced Boo in Monsters, Inc.
Disney’s official cast listing credits Mary Gibbs as Boo. Pixar’s film page describes how the character developed through several story changes. Director Pete Docter said the filmmakers wanted a very young child and settled on a two-year-old girl for the character. That describes their creative decision about Boo; it does not establish Gibbs’s exact age when she recorded the part.
She remembered the film as a childhood visit to her father’s workplace
In an interview, Gibbs said she did not really understand what she was doing at the time and liked going to her father’s work. She recalled playing and wandering around the studio, rather than remembering a conventional recording process with the other actors. She said she met them at the premiere party.
“When I was younger I didn’t really know what I was doing. I think I just liked being able to go to my dad’s work everyday,” she said. She also reflected on the role’s unusual reach: “I’m going to be honest though, it’s pretty unusual knowing your voice has been heard around the world and is even on a ride at Disneyland.”

In 2014, she described a life beyond voice acting
In a 2014 Reddit AMA, Gibbs introduced herself as a college freshman. She said she was an avid hoop dancer, aerial acrobat, and musician, and that she might not be interested in voice acting any longer. That is a snapshot of what she said then, not a current biography.
A later interview described health and fitness work
In another interview, whose publication date is not apparent in the page, Gibbs said she had moved away from acting into health and fitness. She described herself as co-owner of Revival, a health and wellness company offering personal training and health and life coaching. Because the interview’s date is unclear, it does not verify that she still owns or works at Revival today. The available accounts do not establish her current occupation.

She said she would return as Boo if Pixar asked
In that interview, Gibbs said she would gladly accept if Pixar approached her about voicing Boo again. It was a statement of willingness, not evidence that a return was planned or that she had been cast in a new production.
Boo was not in Monsters at Work
Boo does not appear in the 2021 series Monsters at Work. Executive producer Bobs Gannaway told D23 that the team wanted to leave Boo and Sulley’s future relationship open to viewers’ interpretation rather than define it in the series. That explanation applies to the show; it does not settle what a later production might do.

What can—and cannot—be said about her life now
Gibbs’s own dated and undated accounts show a child performer who went on to pursue interests and work outside acting, while remaining open at the time of one interview to playing Boo again. They do not support claims that she vanished under mysterious circumstances, that child stardom harmed her, or that she is currently working in a particular field. Nor do they establish a future return to the franchise.
