After Sister Wives Season 18 ended in December 2023, Leon Brown largely kept a low public profile. They appeared in a Season 19 segment in 2025, then announced in May 2026 that they were ready to start telling their own story. Leon has also stressed that they will decide what to share and when—and asked fans not to approach them in public.
Leon Brown’s timeline after Season 18
Season 18 ended in December 2023, but later episodes do not necessarily show events as they happened. Season 19 coverage in September 2024 noted that the show was filming earlier events, so its on-screen timeline should not be mistaken for real-time updates about Leon. TV Insider’s Season 19 coverage discussed that timing.
January 2025: Meri discusses Leon’s college costs
In an episode discussion about the Brown family’s property and finances, Meri said she paid Leon’s college costs herself. That is Meri’s account, not an independent audit or evidence about Leon’s current finances. The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported Meri’s remarks.
May 2025: Leon appears in a Season 19 segment
Leon appeared on Sister Wives in a segment covered around the Brown family’s gathering to remember Garrison. Leon and Maddie discussed strained family relationships and whether they might speak with Kody and Robyn’s adult children. Leon said they would welcome such a conversation. Us Weekly covered the segment.

May 2026: Leon says they are ready to tell their story
Leon said they had not really spoken publicly about their own story before and that this was beginning to feel inauthentic. They added, “I think it’s time that I start talking about it.” Leon described growing up on television and in a polygamist family as central to the story they want to tell. The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported Leon’s social posts. In that reporting, Leon used the word “cult” to describe their experience; it is their characterization, not an independently established finding.
June 2026: Leon sets limits on what they will share
Leon clarified that nobody is entitled to their time or story, and that they will share at their own pace. They also asked fans not to approach them in public: “if you see me out, don’t come say hi.” The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported Leon’s statement. Their boundary does not cancel the announcement; it makes clear that the timing and scope are theirs to choose.

Why has Leon been less visible on the show?
Leon has generally chosen not to be very public. Meri said in 2024 that Leon had decided “to not be super public” and that she respected the choice, as recounted in The Ashley’s Reality Roundup’s later reporting. That preference helps explain the limited updates, but it is not a basis for guessing about Leon’s private life or relationships.
For context, Leon uses they/them pronouns. In a 2022 public post, they described themself as genderqueer and transgender. Reporting also says Leon and Audrey Kriss married in 2022, and Leon publicly shared having gender-affirming top surgery in January 2023. These are earlier life details, not developments that happened after Season 18. People reported on Leon’s 2022 post.
