Quentin Tarantino discussed ideas for a third film over the years, but in 2023 he said, “I don’t see that happening.” The available reporting does not show that a sequel entered production or was officially cancelled.
Is Kill Bill 3 happening?
There is no confirmed third Kill Bill film or release date in the reporting available as of October 8, 2026. The clearest later comment came in 2023, when Tarantino told Belgian newspaper De Morgen, “I don’t see that happening,” as reported by Euronews.

That is a strong indication that Tarantino did not expect to make the film at that time, but it is not evidence of an irreversible decision. More importantly, the sequel was never shown in the reviewed reporting as a production underway and then cancelled. It is more accurate to describe it as a possibility discussed publicly over many years that was not taken forward.
Why was a third film discussed for so long?
Tarantino’s comments changed over time, and his ideas were exploratory rather than confirmation of a finished screenplay or a scheduled film.

- A female assassin attacked on her wedding day and left for dead by her group leader/ex-lover, Bill, wakes up four years later from a coma and seeks revenge against him and his team of murderous assassins.
Early comments: a possible revenge story
One early concept involved Nikki, the daughter of Vernita Green, growing up and seeking revenge on the Bride. Tarantino later described a different possibility: the Bride and her daughter B.B. living peacefully for 20 years before that peace was disrupted. These are two versions of a speculative premise, not evidence that a single story was finalized. SYFY Wire’s historical overview and Complex’s 2022 report recount the ideas.
2019: interest, but other projects came first
In 2019, Tarantino said he had an idea for what would happen to the Bride, while placing other projects ahead of a sequel. On Andy Cohen’s radio show, he said it would be “at least three years from now” but was “definitely in the cards,” according to TheWrap. That was a statement of interest at the time, not a release plan; it should not be read as a promise that production would begin after three years.

- After crossing two names off her kill list, The Bride returns with a plan of revenge targeting Budd (Michael Madsen) and Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah), the only survivors of the team of thugs who betrayed her four years ago. Everything leads to her ultimate confrontation with Bill (David Carradine), The Bride's former mentor and the one who ordered her assassination!
2023: Tarantino’s outlook cooled
By 2023, Tarantino’s public position was markedly less hopeful: “I don’t see that happening,” he told De Morgen, in the account published by Euronews. The contrast with his 2019 remarks explains why the project has remained a recurring question, but the later comment is the better guide to his stated expectations.
Would Uma Thurman and Maya Hawke have starred?
Uma Thurman, who played the Bride, said in 2022 that the subject had come up but a third film was not immediately on the horizon. “I can’t really tell you anything about it,” she said, adding, “I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon,” as quoted by Complex.

- Quentin Tarantino's KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR unites Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into a single, unrated epic—complete with a new anime sequence.
Tarantino had discussed the possibility of casting Thurman alongside her daughter, Maya Hawke. Hawke later spoke about the idea on Watch What Happens Live; Bravo’s page presents a conversation about the possibility, not an announcement that she had been cast. Neither actor’s involvement in a third film was confirmed.

No. Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003) and Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004) are the existing two-part story. Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is a combined presentation of that story, not a newly produced sequel. A Peacock page published in April 2026 discusses streaming the combined version, but its regional access limitations mean it does not establish current availability everywhere. SYFY Wire covers the films’ history; see also Peacock’s page.
