After Fixer Upper, Clint Harp continued making television, closed his Harp Design Co. retail business, and later moved into real estate in Waco. His own recollections point to a warm history with Chip and Joanna Gaines, but the public evidence does not establish the details of their private friendship today.
What did Clint Harp do after Fixer Upper?
Harp carried on as a woodworker and television host after becoming known for building reclaimed-wood furniture on Fixer Upper. Harp Design Co. says it worked with Chip and Joanna Gaines on the show and later with Magnolia Network on Restoration Road (Harp Design Co.’s company history).

He hosted Restoration Road
The Magnolia Network series followed Harp as he explored historic buildings and restoration projects. Harp Design Co. described the program as work he loved in its 2023 closure announcement (Harp Design Co., January 2023). KWTX later reported that the show ran five seasons from 2021 to 2024 (KWTX, April 23, 2025). That is a historical run, not confirmation of a current production schedule.
A February 2024 interview with Realtor.com said the series had wrapped its fourth season and was filming new episodes at the time (Realtor.com, February 15, 2024). The dated update reflects what was happening then; KWTX’s later account gives the reported end of the run.

Harp Design Co. closed its storefront and stopped taking orders
Clint and Kelly Harp announced that the company’s storefront and website would close on January 20, 2023, and that it would stop accepting new orders. They cited the demands of family life and running multiple businesses, including Clint’s television work. The announcement said he planned to continue Restoration Road and explore other creative projects (the company’s announcement). The company’s page also carries a closure notice (Harp Design Co.), so it should not be treated as an active place to order furniture.
He entered Waco real estate
In an April 23, 2025 report, KWTX said Harp had obtained his real-estate license and was working with Camille Johnson Realtors in Waco. The report also described him teaming up with longtime friend and agent Jonathan Grant (KWTX report; related KWTX material). This is the latest dated career update in the sources cited here; it does not independently confirm his current role in October 2026.

He has other creative work
CAA Speakers lists Harp as host of the Man Unmade podcast and identifies his book as Handcrafted: A Woodworker’s Story (CAA Speakers biography). The available information does not establish whether new podcast episodes are currently being released.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Clint Harp still friends with Chip and Joanna Gaines?
The clearest answer is that Harp has spoken fondly about the Gaineses and the public record supports a positive professional history. It does not confirm the state of their private friendship now.
Rank #3
In a 2024 Realtor.com interview, Harp recalled Joanna visiting his shop with her children and described the families spending time together while their children played, as Fixer Upper was getting started. He remembered the early period as: “We were all just hustling around the town, doing the best that we could” (Realtor.com interview). Harp Design Co. also documents its work with the Gaineses on Fixer Upper and later on Restoration Road (company history).
A 2026 TV Insider recap characterized the relationship as continuing and pointed to Harp’s participation in a Fixer Upper anniversary project (TV Insider, February 10, 2026). That is secondary reporting, rather than a direct, recent statement from Harp and the Gaineses about their personal contact. It is fair to say they appear to remain on warm terms; it would go beyond the cited evidence to state as fact that they are still close friends.
