After playing David “Gordo” Gordon, Lizzie McGuire’s best friend, Adam Lamberg stepped away from acting and was reported to be working in New York’s arts sector. He was set to reprise Gordo in a Disney+ revival announced in 2019, but the project was called off in 2020. The available reporting does not establish Lamberg’s current job or explain why he left acting.
Adam Lamberg’s career after Lizzie McGuire
Lamberg became widely known as David “Gordo” Gordon, Lizzie’s best friend on the original series. Disney described him as the actor who originated the role in its November 20, 2019 announcement.

2018: Reported work at the Irish Arts Center
A May 3, 2018 report said Lamberg had studied geography at UC Berkeley and, after leaving acting, worked as a Development Associate at New York’s Irish Arts Center. That is a dated account of his career at the time, not confirmation of his present occupation. (Her.ie)
2019: Announced return as Gordo
On November 20, 2019, Disney announced that Lamberg would return as Gordo in a planned Disney+ series. The announcement said production had begun earlier that month and described a story about a nearly 30-year-old Lizzie. This was a casting and project announcement; it did not mean the series had been released. (Disney+; Good Morning America)

Hilary Duff, the series’ star and executive producer, said of Gordo: “Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original ‘Lizzie McGuire’ so authentic and beloved,” according to Disney’s announcement. Her comment praised the character’s place in the show; it did not explain Lamberg’s career choices.
2020: The revival was called off
On December 16, 2020, Duff announced that the revival would not happen, despite efforts to make it work. The planned return therefore did not become a released series or a lasting new acting chapter for Lamberg. (Elle)

What is Adam Lamberg doing now?
The cited reports establish an arts-center job in 2018 and a planned acting return announced in 2019, later canceled in 2020. They do not establish Lamberg’s current occupation, personal life, or reasons for stepping away from acting. Claims beyond that timeline would go further than the available reporting supports.
