In December 2016, Us Weekly reported that Tarek El Moussa briefly dated Alyssa Logan, the El Moussa family’s former nanny, after Tarek and Christina El Moussa had separated. The report, which attributed its account to TMZ and unnamed sources, said Logan was 23. Neither Tarek nor Logan publicly confirmed the relationship in the sources available, and the reporting does not establish that it began while Logan was still employed by the family.
What was reported about Tarek El Moussa and Alyssa Logan?
Us Weekly reported on December 17, 2016, that Tarek and Logan briefly dated in September of that year and broke up later that month. It described Logan as 23 and as the family’s former nanny. The article attributed the dating account to TMZ and unnamed sources; it was not a direct account from either person. Read the December 2016 report.
The same report said Tarek had been advised not to pursue a relationship while Logan was employed by the family and that she was fired before the reported dating. It does not independently verify the employment dates or pinpoint when the relationship began. For that reason, the available account does not support saying that they started dating while she was still working as the nanny.
Us Weekly said it sought comment from a representative but received no response. The sources cited here contain no first-person account from Logan and no public confirmation of the reported relationship from either her or Tarek.

How does the reported dating fit the separation timeline?
- May 2016: The couple later said they had decided to live separately in May. Police were called to their home on May 23.
- September 2016: Us Weekly said Tarek and Logan briefly dated and broke up later that month.
- December 12, 2016: Tarek and Christina publicly announced their separation.
- December 17, 2016: Us Weekly published its report about Logan.
- January 31, 2024: Us Weekly reported Tarek’s later account of the 2016 police incident and its aftermath. That retrospective account does not confirm the nanny-dating report.
The timing reported by Us Weekly places the brief dating after the couple’s stated May separation, but before their December public announcement. That chronology does not establish what caused the separation, and the available reporting does not show that Logan played a role in it.
What did the couple say about the May 2016 police call?
The police call is separate context from the report about Logan. In their December 2016 joint statement, the El Moussas said they had experienced “an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago” and that police were called “in an abundance of caution.” They also said: “There was no violence and no charges were filed.” The statement said they had sought counseling. CBS Los Angeles’ Associated Press report on the announcement.

The Associated Press report described the May 23 call as involving a report of a “possibly suicidal male with a gun.” That wording describes what was reported to authorities, not a finding about Tarek’s intentions or a determination that he threatened anyone. In 2024, Tarek gave a retrospective account of the incident and said he understood why Christina acted as she did; that interview provides context about their breakup but does not verify the report about Logan.
