Gwyneth Paltrow’s remark that she and Timothée Chalamet “have a lot of sex” in Marty Supreme referred to the characters’ relationship in the film—not to the actors’ private lives. Whose relationship she was describing
Marty Supreme is Josh Safdie’s film about ping-pong, with Chalamet playing Marty and Paltrow playing a married woman who becomes involved with him. Paltrow described her character as married to someone in what she called the “Ping-Pong mafia.” She said the character meets Marty after a difficult life and characterized their connection as transactional for both of them.
The reports concern the characters and the movie. They do not establish anything about Paltrow and Chalamet’s relationship outside the production. The Guardian described the story as loosely inspired by table-tennis player Marty Reisman: The Guardian.

What Paltrow said about the intimacy coordinator
Paltrow said she had not previously known about intimacy coordinators. In her account, when the coordinator asked whether she was comfortable with a particular move, she and Chalamet replied, “I think we’re good. You can step a little bit back.” She said highly specific physical direction could feel stifling to her as an artist: “I don’t know how it is for kids who are starting out, but … if someone is like, ‘Okay, and then he’s going to put his hand here,’ I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that.”
That is Paltrow’s description of her own preference and experience on this production, not a general recommendation for performers or a statement about how intimacy coordination works on every set.

What was known about the release date
In March 2025, Variety reported that A24 had scheduled a U.S. theatrical release for December 25, 2025. That was the planned date reported at the time; the cited coverage does not establish the film’s current distribution or streaming availability.
