Dolly Parton released Rockstar Deluxe on Jan. 19, 2024, her birthday, expanding her 2023 album from 30 songs to 39. The official announcement lists nine additions and says four songs had never been released, but it does not identify which four.
What was in Dolly Parton’s birthday release?
Parton announced Rockstar Deluxe as a gift to fans, writing, “It’s my birthday so I’m going to give you a present!” The expanded album was made available on digital streaming platforms on Jan. 19, 2024. Apple Music lists it as a 39-song album with a duration of 2 hours 57 minutes.
The official announcement describes the collection as combining 21 classic rock songs with 13 of Parton’s original tracks, and lists nine additions beyond the original album’s 30-song track list:
- “Rockin’ It (Live)”
- “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”
- “Mama Never Said”
- “Two Tickets To Paradise”
- “Jolene” featuring Måneskin
- “Stay Out Of My Bedroom”
- “Bridge Over Troubled Water”
- “The Entertainer”
- “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”
Which songs were never released?
Parton said, “I’m releasing four never released songs for my birthday, to go with the Rockstar album, and a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album. I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you all have a happy birthday for me!” Her announcement does not say which four of the nine listed additions were previously unreleased, so the full bonus list should not be described as nine unreleased songs.
