Netflix and Disney+ each have ad-supported and ad-free tiers, Disney sells several bundles that combine services, and Amazon Prime Video charges separately for some titles and add-ons on top of its membership. The figures below are US dollar prices per month, as published on each provider’s help pages in early October 2026. Netflix’s ad-supported plan starts at $8.99 a month, Disney+ with ads at $11.99, and Hulu with ads at $11.99. Amazon’s membership price could not be confirmed from its own page, so it is shown with the caveat explained below.

Netflix: three tiers, one monthly bill
Netflix’s US prices are $8.99 a month for Standard with ads, $19.99 a month for Standard, and $26.99 a month for Premium. The Basic plan has been discontinued. Netflix bills monthly only and does not offer annual, multi-month or lifetime memberships, and it notes that taxes may apply.

Some titles may be unavailable on the ad-supported plan. Standard and Premium allow paid extra members, subject to slot limits; the source checked does not state the extra-member fee, so confirm it in your account’s Account settings before you add anyone. Netflix’s packaged or add-on pricing, offered through some partners, can differ from these list prices.

Disney+ and its bundles
Disney+ standalone costs $11.99 a month with ads or $18.99 a month for Disney+ Premium without ads. Premium allows downloads on up to 10 devices. Both tiers advertise video up to 4K UHD with HDR, but that depends on your device, connection speed and the individual title.
Disney’s pricing page lists several bundles. Because each bundle combines separate services with separate terms, compare the included services as well as the headline price.

Some bundles are available only in the United States or are billed directly by Disney rather than through a third-party store. Disney notes that third-party billing prices may vary. The pricing page also carries older entries, so use the block marked with the most recent date and confirm the price at checkout.
Disney has announced a pricing update. New subscriptions from September 23, 2026 use the updated prices. Existing subscribers may see billing changes on or after October 21, 2026. Those changes are scheduled, not yet in effect as of this article’s date.

Hulu
Hulu with ads costs $11.99 a month. Hulu’s help page also notes a price change for some subscribers who signed up before a stated date, effective in billing periods on or after October 21, 2026. The no-ads standalone rate was not confirmed in the source checked, so check Hulu’s plan page for the rate that applies to your account before you budget for it.

Amazon’s own help page explains that Prime Video content reaches viewers in four ways: included with Prime, rented or purchased individually, subscribed to as add-on channels, or bought as pay-per-view events. Amazon states that add-on fees are charged on top of the Prime membership cost, and that the included catalog changes over time.

The Prime membership price is the figure we could not verify from Amazon’s own pages. A 2026 Tom’s Guide price roundup reports $14.99 a month or $139 a year. Treat that as a secondary figure and check Amazon’s membership page before quoting it.
Amazon announced Prime Video Ultra on March 26, 2026, as a paid ad-free option. Amazon said the Prime membership price did not change because of the Ultra launch. The Ultra price itself was not stated in the source checked.

Services without confirmed official US prices
Official current US prices for HBO Max, Peacock, Paramount+ and Apple TV were not confirmed here. Search snippets and secondary articles often show different numbers, so check each service’s own plan page before comparing. HBO Max also appears in the Disney bundle above, where it is priced as part of that bundle.
How to compare the real cost
- Pick the same market and billing period for every service. These figures are US and monthly.
- Decide whether you need ads. Ad-supported tiers are cheaper but may exclude some titles.
- For a bundle, list the services you would actually use. A $21.99 bundle is only cheaper than two separate subscriptions if you would use both.
- Add extra-member fees, Prime Video add-ons, rentals, purchases and pay-per-view events. These are separate from the monthly plan.
- Check for taxes, third-party billing, promotional eligibility, and any scheduled price change before you quote a total. For Disney+ and Hulu, that means the October 21, 2026 billing date.
For documentary viewers, the most common extra cost is a one-off rental or purchase on Prime Video, which sits outside any subscription. Check the title’s listing before you assume it is included.
