The defense sentencing submission includes a former assistant’s account of shared parenting, family vacations, and Combs checking on Porter after their romantic relationship ended. Because this is one witness’s favorable account included in a defense filing, it should be understood as that person’s description, not as a complete or independently established portrait of their relationship.

There is also limited context in reporting on Cassie Ventura’s 2025 testimony: the Associated Press reported that Ventura described being angry about Combs taking vacations and spending holidays with Porter and his children. That is an account of Ventura’s testimony, not a first-person record from Porter.
Porter died in 2018
ABC News reports that Porter died of pneumonia in 2018 at age 47. The sources cited here do not establish that she and Combs were romantically together when she died; the defense filing instead describes their connection after the romance as involving family contact and shared parenting.
The purported memoir should not be treated as Porter’s account
A book later promoted as a memoir by Porter is not reliable evidence of what she thought or experienced. Her children publicly said she did not write it. The Associated Press reported that the listed author described assembling material but could not establish whether that material was true. Its allegations should not be presented as facts or attributed to Porter as an authentic first-person account.
