Desmond Scott acknowledged making choices he regrets before he and Kristy Scott decided to divorce, but his quoted statement did not explicitly say he cheated. Kristy’s divorce petition reportedly alleged adultery, according to Us Weekly. TMZ later reported, citing court records, that the divorce was finalized in July 2026.
Did Desmond Scott admit to cheating?
Not in the quoted statement. The Washington Post reported that on January 10, 2026, Desmond said: “Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this. During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of. I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce.”
He acknowledged regretted choices and said he took responsibility, but did not identify those choices as cheating in that statement. The adultery claim came from Kristy’s petition, as reported by Us Weekly; it remains an allegation in the filing, not a court finding established by the reporting cited here.
What did Kristy Scott’s divorce filing reportedly allege?
Us Weekly reported that Kristy filed for divorce on December 30, 2025, after 11 years of marriage, and that her petition claimed Desmond committed adultery. That account describes what the petition reportedly alleged; it does not independently establish the claim.
