What is Nia Sioux doing now?
Sioux has been pursuing work in dance and acting. In a May 27, 2026 interview with TheaterMania, she said that at the beginning of the year she was getting back into dance, taking voice lessons, acting and auditioning. The interview does not identify a subsequent booking, so there is no confirmed next production to announce.
Her most recent documented stage milestone is 11 to Midnight. The limited engagement has ended; it is not a current booking.
Her return to dance in 11 to Midnight
Sioux played “Her Former Roommate” in the dance-driven show at the Orpheum Theatre. The character feels behind as her friends move forward. Created with Cost n’ Mayor—the artistic partnership of Austin and Marideth Telenko—the production ran May 15–31, 2026.

Sioux described the engagement as a professional return to dance and a full-circle moment. In the TheaterMania interview, she said, “It’s a full-circle moment, and I think it’s gonna make people really happy to see me dancing again.” Asked about her outlook, she added: “To stay present in all the moments so life doesn’t pass me by. I’m not three steps behind. I’m exactly where I need to be.”
Bottom of the Pyramid and her account of Dance Moms
Before joining 11 to Midnight, Sioux completed a tour for her memoir, Bottom of the Pyramid. The book looks back on growing up in the public eye and her experience as the show’s only Black dancer. In an April 2026 report, Click2Houston described the book as addressing the challenges and racist microaggressions she faced. The outlet reported that it became a New York Times bestseller, without specifying a list date or category.
