Lawson also said she felt happy with the dance. The available reporting does not show Lawson agreeing with fans who called Inaba “erratic.”
What happened during Lawson’s finale dance?
On December 5, 2023, during the season 32 finale, Lawson and her professional partner, Artem Chigvintsev, performed a redemption tango. Inaba said she had seen something that “looked like, maybe, it was a mistake,” while also praising the dance’s passion and connection. The audience booed the critique; that records the reaction in the room, not the views of all viewers. Us Weekly’s December 6 interview report recounts Lawson’s response, while its December 5 finale report describes the critique and scoring.

Derek Hough praised the performance. Inaba gave Lawson a 9, and Lawson’s reported overall score was 29 out of 30, according to the finale report. Inaba explained on air: “This is the finale and I have to call everything I see. I did see something that looked like maybe it was a mistake and I honestly don’t know but I have to call it in order to be fair, but it was absolutely what I was asking for.”
What did Charity Lawson say about Inaba’s comments?
After the show, Lawson told Us Weekly: “I think I was a little confused [by Carrie Ann’s comments] and I don’t really know what the error was, but I feel really happy with that dance.” Her statement describes uncertainty about the specific mistake Inaba mentioned, alongside satisfaction with her performance.

Did Lawson call Inaba “erratic”?
No such agreement appears in the cited reporting. Lawson’s post-show comment addresses the critique and the dance; it does not characterize Inaba as erratic. The headline framing should not be read as a quotation or endorsement from Lawson.
Why are some fans calling Inaba “erratic”?
“Erratic” appears as an individual viewer’s opinion in a November 2, 2023 Reddit discussion. One commenter wrote that Inaba “talks over everyone” and is “really erratic”—an anecdotal comment, not a poll or evidence of a broader consensus. The Reddit discussion illustrates the wording, but cannot establish how DWTS viewers generally feel.
