Violet Sorrengail hopes to join the Scribe Quadrant and spend her life among books, but her mother orders her to enter the Riders Quadrant at Basgiath War College and train to become a dragon rider.
Why Violet is sent to the Riders Quadrant
Violet’s conflict is the premise behind the title: she wants the safety and scholarship of the scribes, while her mother expects her to pursue the dangerous path of a rider. At Basgiath War College in Navarre, the Riders Quadrant is a lethal training environment shaped by dragons and institutional stakes.
