That encounter later became part of 2015 reporting about allegations of an affair, which Flay’s representative rejected. The crash and the reporting do not establish that an affair occurred; “exposed” overstates what the record shows.
What happened in January Jones’s 2010 car crash?
On June 10, 2010, Jones’s car struck parked vehicles in Los Angeles. Reports differed on how many. Jones told police she had been followed by paparazzi and was trying to get away from them. TheWrap quoted LAPD Officer April Harding as saying Jones was not under the influence and that “no crime occurred.” The Los Angeles Times also reported that police said alcohol was not involved and that no hit-and-run investigation would be pursued. Why did Bobby Flay show up?
In a contemporaneous account reported by TMZ, Flay said he had been watching a basketball game with a group that included Jones. He said they had met once before, and that he had given her his number because she wanted to redo her kitchen and pass it to her designer. According to Flay, Jones called him after the crash, and he drove over to help. TMZ
TMZ also reported a witness’s account that Flay arrived and urged Jones to leave. That is an attributed witness claim, not a police finding; it differs from Flay’s explanation of the visit and does not, by itself, establish why he came or what their relationship was.

How did the affair allegation enter the story?
The affair allegation appeared later, in 2015 reporting around Flay’s separation from his wife, Stephanie March. A May 2015 Starcasm retrospective said March’s claims included Jones. It is a secondary account of the allegations, not independent proof that an affair occurred. Starcasm
In April 2015, Flay’s representative rejected the allegations, telling UPI: “We will continue to refrain from responding to the continued efforts by certain parties to spread rumors and innuendo.” The representative described the allegation as material from a lawyer’s letter leaked to the press. - Established in the cited reporting: Jones’s crash occurred in June 2010; Flay acknowledged going to the scene and said she called him.
- Attributed but disputed or unverified: a witness’s account of Flay urging Jones to leave, and the later affair allegations reported in connection with the Flay-March separation.
- Not established: that Jones and Flay had an affair, that the crash exposed one, or any paternity claim. The cited accounts provide no adjudicated finding or direct confirmation from Jones.
The defensible connection is narrower than the headline: the crash brought Flay into the news because he said he responded to Jones’s call; years later, allegations involving Jones surfaced in coverage of his separation from March. The first event does not prove the later allegation.
