What did Billy Crudup say about Naomi Watts?
“I’m happy to be here with my piece of eye candy there, my wife who also happens to be an immigrant and also gave a searing performance this year for which she’s nominated,” Crudup said, according to ABC News Australia. He added: “And she starts businesses too. So nice to be by her side.”
The remark was an affectionate acknowledgment within a longer speech, not the only person or group he credited: Crudup also recognized writers and educators, ABC News Australia reported.
Why was Naomi Watts nominated?
Watts was in the audience and was a 2024 Emmy nominee for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. She was nominated for playing Babe Paley in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, not for The Morning Show, according to the Television Academy’s nominations list.
