Weston Cage, actor Nicolas Cage’s son, was arrested on July 10, 2024, after surrendering to police on a warrant connected to an alleged April 28 assault in Los Angeles. Prosecutors had filed two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Later reporting said Cage was sentenced to a two-year mental-health program in April 2025, avoiding jail; his compliance and any subsequent court action have not been confirmed in the sources available.
Why was Weston Cage arrested?
The arrest followed an alleged incident at an apartment building in the 200 block of South Main Street in Los Angeles on April 28, 2024. According to the Los Angeles Times’ account of information from the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded and completed a report after speaking with the parties. LAPD said Cage punched two people multiple times and caused injuries. Those statements describe the police account, not a finding by a court. Los Angeles Times
Christina Fulton, Cage’s mother, separately said she had arrived to help her son and described herself as having been assaulted. The Times also reported that LAPD declined to comment on Fulton’s allegation that officers refused her request for a psychological evaluation. Her account and allegation should not be treated as established findings or as a medical diagnosis. Los Angeles Times
What charges were filed, and when was he arrested?
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on June 26, 2024, according to the Los Angeles Times. The filing led to a felony warrant, with bail set at $150,000. The charges are accusations; they are not proof of guilt. Los Angeles Times
