Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park launched for Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26, 2026. It adds new multiplayer activities, courses and characters to the original game. Nintendo also released Elephant Mario and Captain Toad & Talking Flower amiibo that day. The new edition is already available; its listed U.S. price was $79.99 for the full game or $19.99 for the upgrade pack for eligible owners of the original game.
What is the Switch 2 Edition?
This is an enhanced edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Nintendo Switch 2, not a new edition for the original Nintendo Switch. Its central addition is Bellabel Park, a new area in the Flower Kingdom, alongside new multiplayer activities, training challenges, assist options, a playable Rosalina and courses featuring the Koopalings. Nintendo also lists the Super Flower Pot power-up, which turns a character into flower form and lets them throw flowers. Nintendo’s announcement describes the edition as adding co-op and competitive gameplay as well as other content and enhancements for Switch 2.
What’s new in Bellabel Park and the game?
Two plazas for multiplayer
Bellabel Park has two distinct multiplayer areas. The Local Multiplayer Plaza offers 17 attraction types for up to four players on one system. With GameShare, one player can share locally with up to three other players. The Game Room Plaza supports local wireless and online play; Nintendo says up to 12 friends can compete across its six additional attractions. Nintendo’s U.S. announcement says online features require a Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account.
Training, assistance and new characters
At the Toad Brigade Training Camp, players take on challenges in courses from the main game, alone or with up to three others. Assist Mode can help players recover after falling without losing a life or avoid taking damage. Rosalina joins the cast, while Co-Star Luma can defeat enemies and collect coins in multiplayer. On Switch 2, players can control Luma using the system’s mouse functionality.

Release date and how to get the game
The edition and the two amiibo in this article launched on March 26, 2026. Nintendo’s corporate schedule gives the same date and notes that release dates can vary by region. Nintendo’s U.S. announcement listed these prices in U.S. dollars; prices and availability may differ elsewhere, and live listings should be checked before buying.

The upgrade pack is digital content, not a standalone game or a physical accessory. It requires the full original Super Mario Bros. Wonder game and a Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo Support says it is available through the Nintendo eShop on Switch 2 and the Nintendo Store. Nintendo’s upgrade support page explains the purchase route. If you do not own the original game, the full-game purchase is the relevant option; the upgrade pack alone does not provide the base game.

Nintendo released both figures on March 26, 2026, as part of the Super Mario Bros. Wonder amiibo series. They are sold separately from the game and are optional: players do not need either figure to access the Switch 2 Edition’s new content.

Elephant Mario
Using an Elephant Fruit in the game transforms Mario into Elephant Mario, whose trunk can attack enemies, break blocks and do more. Nintendo says the Elephant Mario amiibo can provide helpful power-ups in both editions of Wonder and decorations in Camp Central in the Switch 2 Edition. Nintendo’s figure page describes the character and its in-game form: Elephant Mario amiibo.
Captain Toad & Talking Flower
Nintendo describes Captain Toad as an explorer and treasure hunter who discovered ruins in Bellabel Park. The figure can provide helpful power-ups in courses and decorations in Camp Central. Nintendo’s U.S. store listing gives the figure’s SKU as 122219 and UPC as 00045496894405: Captain Toad & Talking Flower amiibo.

Nintendo says amiibo can provide a power-up during a course, and the Switch 2 Edition also uses scans to change Bellabel Park decorations. It does not specify an exact power-up effect for each of these two figures in the cited product information. Compatibility and functions can vary by game, and a software update may be required.
