Venom: The Last Dance held the No. 1 spot at the U.S. and Canadian box office for the weekend of November 1–3, 2024. It took in roughly $26 million in its second weekend, and the exact figure depends on which report you read. This article covers that weekend only, not the current box office.
The top ten for November 1–3, 2024
Rotten Tomatoes published its weekend estimates on November 4, 2024. These are the ranked estimates for the three-day weekend in the United States and Canada:
| Rank | Film | Weekend estimate (Rotten Tomatoes, Nov. 4, 2024) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Venom: The Last Dance | $26.1 million |
| 2 | The Wild Robot | $7.5 million |
| 3 | Smile 2 | $6.8 million |
| 4 | Conclave | $5.3 million |
| 5 | Here | $5 million |
| 6 | We Live in Time | $3.4 million |
| 7 | Terrifier 3 | $3.2 million |

| 10 | Beetlejuice Beetlejuice | $2.09 million |
Which Venom number to use
Three sources give three slightly different figures for the same weekend, and they do not measure exactly the same thing. Match the number to the measure you are describing.
| Source (2024) | Figure | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Rotten Tomatoes, November 4 article | $26.1 million | Weekend estimate, November 1–3 |
| Rotten Tomatoes, November 4 article | $90 million | Reported total after ten days in release |
| AP, November 3 report | $26.1 million | Studio estimate; final domestic figures were to follow the following Monday |
| The Numbers, weekend chart | $25,902,766 | Weekend gross for November 1–3 |
| The Numbers, weekend chart | $89,850,196 | To-date gross shown on that chart |
For a rounded figure in the weekend’s coverage, $26.1 million is the number to use. If you need the chart value, use $25,902,766. Do not compare the estimated weekend figure for one film with a cumulative total for another, because the two numbers measure different things.

#1 Best Overall
- In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel?s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.
Why $26.1 million was not an opening weekend
The Rotten Tomatoes article described the result as the highest opening week of November in three years and compared it with Eternals in 2021. The chart itself shows that this was the film’s second weekend. The film’s debut came the previous week, so $26.1 million measures its second weekend and should be described that way.
What else was on the chart
Reporting from the weekend described a quiet slate of new wide releases, and AP noted that the weekend came just ahead of the U.S. presidential election. Those are descriptions of the reporting at the time, not proof that any single factor drove the results.

The Robert Zemeckis film starring Tom Hanks and Robin Wright opened to $5 million, per Rotten Tomatoes. AP reported the same figure from 2,647 locations. The weekend’s coverage framed it as a disappointing debut for a high-profile title, and that framing is the reporters’ judgment.
